Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Lindenwold Police Chief Thomas Brennan announced a Camden man is facing a 10-year state prison sentence after admitting to a gunpoint robbery in the borough.

Chad B. Smith, 30, pleaded guilty today in Superior Court in Camden to one count of first-degree armed robbery.

The robbery occurred at the Arborwood apartment complex in Lindenwold in the early morning hours of September 20, 2014.  The victim, a Lindenwold man in his 40s, was walking to his delivery vehicle around 12:25 a.m. when Smith approached and pointed a handgun at him.  Smith took the victim’s cell phone and credit card then punched him in the face and fled the scene.

Police located Smith approximately a half hour after the incident at the Woodland Village apartment complex and took him into custody.

Under the No Early Release Act, Smith will be required to serve at least 85 percent of his prison sentence before he is eligible for parole.  He also will be required to have five years of parole supervision upon his release.

Smith is scheduled to be sentenced on October 30 before Superior Court Judge John T. Kelley.

Released Wednesday, September 2, 2015.
